Jobs are posted and you can bid for them. There are many kinds of jobs, including technical jobs - all freelance, yay.

A website for doctors, nurses, cpas, lawyers, mechanics, and more, to get paid for answering questions. Worth checking out to keep your professional skills sharp and get paid for doing that, before and after retirement, and if you are unemployed, or under-employed.

Fivver:

Fiverr provides a platform for freelancers to offer services to customers worldwide, including customers like Facebook, Google, Paypal, and Intuit.

Toptal:

Toptal says it accepts only the best freelancers with years of proven experience. You have to be in the top 3%. Hence the name. A great way to prove your chops.
