Background & Guide to My Posts

Writer Interrupted is the best way to describe it.

I used to be a writer.

Then all of a sudden my muse went dark and silent.

I emigrated to America.

And got caught up with the demands of making a new life with a young child.

But my muse was persistent.

I would spy her desperately trying to hail me down from behind the throng of finance and sales people that had taken center stage in my life.

"Hello, I'm still here", she said. "Don't pretend you don't see me!"

"All that's behind me" I said, "I am a Commissions Analyst now."

To which she replied, "I don't care if you are a Commissions Analyst - I know you recently became an Xactly Implementation Architect as well.  But how can you give up on your writing?  How can you give up on you?"

"Even if I could write again, I wouldn't know what to write about!," I protested.

"Hello," she said, in reply, "of course you know what to write about.  You read a ton of books.  You spend all your time surfing the net.  You have so much accumulated life experience.  All you need is a kick in the pants".

Perhaps, all I really did need is a kick in the pants.

Because no sooner did I decide to start writing again, when I found there was no shortage of ideas to write about.

I thought about Weight-loss & Nutrition and the wonderful tips I had learned from my friend Julia over the years.  This became the successful "4 Healthy-Eating Tips for 2011 from My Friend Julia" post.

I thought about Careers & Job-Search and the gems I found in a book on Resumes by author Brenda Greene, and this became the "Resume Tips from Fortune 500 Managers" post, my most popular post to date.

I thought about April 15th and Income Tax Returns and how understanding and learning how to use Turbo Tax had saved me money over the years, and this became my "Lower Your Tax and Tax-Filing Expense - 4 ways I do this each year" post.

I thought about Healthy Families & HSA Accounts  and how I navigated Healthcare Options during the 2 periods in my life when I didn't have employer insurance, and this became "Jobless?  Or Self-Employed in California."

In my collection of posts, you will  find these and other actionable ideas such as:

Buying a Used Car - How you can use Consumer Reports, CarFaxHertz Rent to Buy and AAA Inspection Services to get the best deal and sleep at night.

Credit - You can learn how No Credit is Worse than Bad Credit in my post "4 lessons I didn't learn from a Certified Financial Planner".

Launching a Business - How to get inspired by Robert Kiyosaki and then use resources like SCORE and AMEX Open as part of 6 steps to launching a successful business.

And my favorite post of all:
