Maybe It's Time To Turn The Page

No matter where you are at, no matter how impossible the challenges seem, no matter how tough your circumstances, or how severe the storms you have been through, you can turn the page.

If you want to make a fresh start, turn the page.

If you want to build on the foundations of your success, turn the page.

If you want to create a different future for yourself, turn the page.

If you want to get excited again, turn the page.

If you want to become a stronger person, turn the page.

If you want to show the stuff you are made of, turn the page.

If you think there’s a better approach to a medical condition, turn the page.

If you think there’s a better way, whether parenting, being a better person to be around, tackling challenges, turn the page.

Your life is a book.  New chapters are waiting to be written in it.

Turn the page on stress, on sadness, on staleness, on strained relationships, on stagnation.

You don't have to get stuck where you are. Turn the page and begin a new chapter today.

Maybe it's time …..

Maybe It's Time To Make A Difference

Art by David Lobo - December 2016

There are many ways to make a difference.

You can make a difference by addressing an unmet need. In doing so, you might find yourself on an exciting new path. What avenues can you think of?  Cast around a bit and you might discover what that is.

You can make a difference by giving someone a chance. What skills, talents, knowledge and experience can you pass on?

You can make a difference by spreading the values you believe in.  Even if you communicate your values to just one person, you may be able to influence that person's thinking. What do you wish more people would start doing?  What do you wish more people would stop doing? Be an advocate for what you believe in.

Our greatest strengths are revealed in our weakest moments. You can make a difference by being a beacon when tragedy strikes. How can you use your grief and loss to create positive change, or make the world a safer place?

You can make a difference by adopting a servant heart and a service heart.  A servant heart asks “what can I do?” A servant heart does not ask “what can someone do for me?” You can always find a way to serve. Even the gift of your time, your support, your encouragement, your patience, or your forgiveness, can make a difference for someone.  How can you adopt a service heart and a servant heart?

You can make a difference by making someone’s day. It doesn’t take much to make someone's day. Here's a true story told to me by my daughter Tanita, which attests. How can you make someone’s day?

You can make a difference by becoming a non-judgmental listener. The art of conversation starts with learning to be non-judgmental when you listen or talk. Looking for a role model? Familiarize yourself with one of the greatest conversationalists in history. His claim to fame was his ability to listen. Which relationship in your life might benefit from using his approach?

You can make a difference by broadcasting a message of hope. Even a terrible loss, or affliction, is not hopeless.  What can you do to replace a feeling of hopelessness with hope in someone's life?

You can make a difference by being a good friend to your friends. As my United States of Friendship Series of posts attests, the rewards of friendship are abundant.  To make and keep friends, you have to be a good friend. How can you be a better friend to your friends?

You can make a difference by using your unique gifts to serve a greater good.  My brother David uses his artistic talents to raise money for ALS.  The sketch featured in this post was done by him.

These are just some ways you can make a difference.

Have you been treading water and going through the motions?

Perhaps you should start thinking of ways to make a difference.

Give yourself the psychic jolt your life needs.

Maybe it is time …..

Maybe It's Time For Freshness

Maybe it’s time to look at things with fresh eyes. What are you missing

Maybe it’s time to do things with a fresh heart. What baggage can you drop?

Maybe it’s time to look forward to the future with a fresh vision. What can you get excited about? How can you empower yourself

Maybe it’s time to take a fresh, and dare I say, non-medical approach to your health problems. What is an achievable goal to focus on?

Maybe it’s time for a fresh approach to your investments.  What new strategies can you use? Is this a possibility?

Maybe it’s time for a fresh approach to interpersonal problems. What new solutions can you try? Are all problems just puzzles?

Maybe it’s time to bring fresh skills and ingredients to the table. What undiscovered talents and gifts can you use in new, imaginative, and productive ways?

Maybe it’s time for a fresh start.

The old year is over.

The old you is over.

The new year has dawned.

The new you can take over.

The only limitation is your mind.

And you are the rider of that elephant called mind.

Get in the saddle...and steer it to where you want to go.

Maybe it is time …..
