We Said It's Christmas

We said “It’s Christmas” and we prayed, or went to service.

We said, “It’s Christmas” and we summoned the energy to cook Christmas treats, and distribute them to friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.

We said, “It’s Christmas” and we took time off to enjoy the season with our families.

We said, “It’s Christmas” and we put our best foot forward, and participated wholeheartedly in social events.

We said “It’s Christmas” and we spent hours decorating our houses, or doing Christmas shopping.

We said “It’s Christmas” and we opened our hearts and pocket books to brighten someone's day.

We said “It’s Christmas” and we gave up an evening, or a weekend to feed the poor, or give gifts to needy children.

We said, “It’s Christmas” and we sent texts or social media messages to each other.

We said, “It’s Christmas” and many of us trudged to the post office to send packages.

We said, “It’s Christmas” and drove or flew miles to be close to family.

We said, “It’s Christmas” and for a brief and magical while, we put aside our differences and focused on enjoying the season together.

Now that Christmas is over, and the new year has begun, let's use the power of 1225 to keep our Christmas spirit shining on.

What are the ways in which you can keep your Christmas spirit shining on? Quick, get a pencil and paper so you can jot them down.
