The Element of Trying New Things and Its Hope for Living More Vitally

Dish Out Something New Today
If you want to make your life more vital, there is nothing like thinking of today as a new day.

As a new day, whatever happened before today, is irrelevant.

It is the new thoughts you think today that matter.

It is the new attitude you wear today that matters.

It is the new outlook you sport today that matters.

It is the new actions you take today that matter.

It is the new things you try today that matter.

In tough times, we especially need to think of the present moment as new.

Each day invites us to try new things.

Wear a new hat.

Sport a new attitude

Approach things with a new spirit

Adopt a new strategy.

The options are limitless.

People have gone through Katrina and Tsunamis and wars and imprisonment and have come out unbroken like Louis "Louie" Zamperini did.

It is never the end of the world.

There are always new avenues and new options when a new day comes round.

Two years ago, I wrote a series of posts.

The message in each of these posts is that there is a Happy New You waiting to approach a NEW DAY in NEW WAYS.

You need to bring this Happy New You out.

If you have been doing the same old things, or having the same old thoughts, you need to get those stale same old things and same old thoughts out of your head and your life.

Growing up, we had dogs.

Whenever we gave the dogs a bath, after we had finished bathing them and toweling them off, the dogs would give themselves a good shake to shake out the water still in their fur.

It was a joyous sight to behold.

We need to be like those just bathed dogs.

We need to joyfully shake out all the old stale thoughts from our head.

What will be left standing is the Happy New Us.

Which is what we need for the journey ahead.

We don’t need riches to lead a rich life.

We just need to enrich our thoughts.

Enriched thoughts lead to enriched actions.

There’s a new you shaping up who wants to live more vitally.

Don’t let it get held back by the old you.

Put all your weight behind the new you

Let these words encourage you.

C. S. Lewis said, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

What is your new dream?

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.

What new thoughts are you thinking today?  What new sources of strength have you found?

Neil Gaiman, said: “I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something.

How did you push yourself in a new way today?

What new knowledge did you learn?

What mistakes did you make from which you learned something? If you didn't learn anything, the mistake is not useful.

Henry Nouwen said, “Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. Let's not be afraid to receive each day's surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy. It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity.

How open were you to the surprises of the day?

Were you able to embrace both the good and the not so good things that happened today? As we grow older, our portion of not so good things will increase. We have to learn to take these not so good things in our stride.

Carrie Underwood said, “Every day is a new day, and you'll never be able to find happiness if you don't move on.

What were you able to successfully move on from today?

What repetitive words and thoughts were you able to stop in their tracks?

I will end with this quote from Gilian Anderson:

I hope everyone that is reading this is having a really good day. And if you are not, just know that in every new minute that passes you have an opportunity to change that.

Cheers to taking that to heart.  Because the clock is ticking away.

As always, thanks for reading and have a great day and week.  M….A Pearl-Seeker like you.  Thanks to Ajay for his kind comments, and thanks to the rest of you for your likes, pins and votes.  Much appreciated.

Thank you Minoo for this wonderful post!
Neil Gaiman's and Gillian Anderson's quotes are so apt.
I tried something new today which failed to get me the desired result.I am sure I'll be successful next time.

I am curious as to what it is you tried which failed to give you the desired result. Was it a new dish? Was it a new way of dealing with someone? Questions. Questions. Only you can answer.

Minoo,I categorize it under'way of dealing with someone'.
An initiative which failed because of insufficient background work.
