Have a service heart
and a servant heart.
Have a giving heart,
not a “gimme” heart.
Be supportive, not
competitive.
Leave your
prejudices and discrimination at the door.
Better still, get rid of your prejudices and discrimination altogether. They have no place in your career, and no
place in your life.
Be low maintenance.
Respect people’s
time.
Deliver “value”
surprises.
Don’t throw your
weight because of your status, competence, or experience.
Willingly give up
the front seat, if it is important to someone, and they want it.
Avoid back-seat
driving when you do.
Try not to hog the
plum work, and the fun work.
Take one for the
team, by taking on the grunt work.
Be willing to do the
work no one wants to do.
Be willing to do the
work that gets the least limelight.
Go with the flow.
Never fly off the
handle, or give in to venting.
Be watchful of your
mannerisms, ones that may disturb, offend, or annoy other people
Help the team you
are on to win. If your team had a choice to
pick you, or someone else, they would pick the person who could help them win.
Give advice and
guidance, only when it will be helpful and constructive.
Do not give advice
and guidance when it will worsen a situation.
Learn to know when to hold your tongue.
Learn to know when to hold your tongue.
Don’t back-bite.
Don’t play double
games.
Recognize the
vulnerabilities of those you work with, and step aside to accommodate them.
Make other people
look good, not bad.
Be willing to take
the shame and the blame.
Don’t be defensive
about your mistakes.
Fess up and move on.
If you follow these simple steps, you will become the kind of person people want to work with.
Maybe it's time!

Wishing you a super career.

another. Just make a pact with yourself, you will do things differently going forward. Print the list above. Whenever you are about to blow it…..take it out
and read it. Do each of the things I’ve
recommended, until they have become second nature to you. In no time, your gig will become a blast.
