Reaching 100 – Part 2

Numerology, Anyone?

What does the number 101 signify?

It depends...

To a mineralogist...
The number 101 is a crystal face with specific characteristics on the Miller Index

To a chemist...
The number 101 is the atomic number of Mendelevium
To a San Francisco Bay Area driver...
The number 101 is a freeway to get to work

To an inhabitant of Argentina or the Indian subcontinent...
The number 101 is a number to call in an emergency

To a freshman in a US college...
The number 101 is the first course she/he learns in any subject

To the writers and readers of posts on Minoo Jha Life Strategies...
The number 101 is the start of the next hundred posts. Yeah!!!! It brings me great satisfaction to be able to say that.  If you want to read some of the posts which were in the first 100, Reaching 100 - Part 1 is choc-a-bloc with links.

Thanks to all my readers, commenters and guest posters. You have helped what started as a lark back in December of 2010 reach an incredible milestone.

P.S. Look for Reaching 100 - Part 3 and Part 4 in upcoming posts. Next up: The School of Commentology

Thanks Ajay and Aarathi. Aarathi, I watched Noorondu Nenapu on You Tube, saw a very young Vishnuvardhan and read this comment by one of the commenters below: the instrumental compilation from 0:44 to 1:24, starting off with piano, topping with sax, levelled with violin & guitar, and again hollowed out with sax & violin..this bleeding musical mathematics lasting just for 40secs is sufficient enough to haunt one for an entire lifetime :(

Bandhana was written by late Mrs.Usha Navarathnaram -(who taught me Social Studies in Middle School).
I was still in 9th/10th standard when she wrote Hombisilu another hit as a magazine serial {SUDHA weekly} and also as a movie.
Once my classmate had taken me to her, to discuss about the possible developments in the story..only she (my friend) spoke and I don't remember my teacher's response...she(my teacher) wrote in Kannada, but spoke in English to us ...
all the while i was admiring her fluency in both the languages....
